Stefano Arganese to take over as Head of Swiss Post Cargo

Dintikon, 31 March 2026 – Swiss Post Cargo is setting the course for its next development phase: Stefano Arganese will take up his position at Swiss Post Cargo on 1 June 2026 and, after a handover phase, will officially take over as Head of Swiss Post Cargo on 1 July. He succeeds Stefan Luginbühl, who has led the Swiss Post business unit on an interim basis since October 2025.

Swiss Post has appointed a new Head of Swiss Post Cargo, who will take up his role on 1 June 2026. Stefano Arganese will take up his role on 1 June 2026 and, following a handover phase, will officially take over management on 1 July. In Stefano Arganese, the company has recruited someone with proven industry know-how, specialist knowledge and leadership competencies.

Stefano Arganese held various positions at DHL Group for nearly 30 years. After studying civil engineering with a focus on logistics and a Master’s degree in business administration, he took on responsibility in sales, operations and business controlling. For 15 years, he was CEO of an international region with more than 20 countries, including Switzerland. In recent years, his focus has been on global business processes and digital transformation, most recently as Chief Transformation Officer at DHL Freight.

Johannes Cramer, Head of Logistics Services at Swiss Post and Member of Executive Management, says: “In Stefano Arganese, Swiss Post Cargo has recruited an internationally experienced leader with proven industry and transformation expertise. He has a long track record in international goods logistics and combines strategic development with operational experience. He is ideally placed to develop Swiss Post Cargo in the next phase.” Stefano Arganese explains: “I very much look forward to working with the team to further refine our strategic focus, purposefully expand our performance and strengthen our collaboration with our customers over the long term.” Stefano Arganese has dual Italian and Swiss citizenship, lives in the canton of Zurich, is married and has two daughters.

Swiss Post would like to thank Stefan Luginbühl for his interim management of Swiss Post Cargo. Together with the Swiss Post Cargo Executive Board, he has ensured continuity in management over recent months and supported the organization through a transition phase. With effect from 1 June 2026, Stefan Luginbühl will return to his previous function in Swiss Post’s Logistics Services unit.
