With Swiss-Express Innight Medica, we offer Medica customers a tailored overnight logistics solution. We collect consignments in Switzerland and abroad at agreed times and deliver them to hospitals by 6 a.m. The consignments can be delivered to reception, the operating theatre or any other agreed delivery point. We also offer straightforward returns management by collecting returns of medical products or devices from hospitals.

Here’s how it works
Provide consignment data
Send your consignment data with ease via the online service Swiss-Express “Web” or the EDI interface.Collection
We collect goods from the supplier from Monday to Friday, in the late afternoon or evening, in Switzerland or abroad. The consignments are then transported to the logistics center in Niederbipp.Overnight transport
Consignments are transported overnight to their destination so they arrive on time. During transport, the consignment remains integrated into the logistics process at all times and is handled according to the agreed instructions.Delivery by 6 a.m.
The consignment is delivered to the individually selected place in the hospital by 6 a.m. at the latest.Optional returns procedure
We take returns away with us on the next delivery round and take care of returns transport. Larger hospitals have fixed time slots for returns collection between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. These returns are also integrated into the logistics network and returned to the relevant destination.
Service in detail
Your medical products or technical devices need to arrive punctually at the hospital or physician’s practice. In cases where operating equipment needs to be returned quickly, we collect returns between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. at over 220 hospitals in Switzerland.
We serve all hospitals in Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein and deliver your consignments by 6 a.m. The Swiss-Express Innight” Medica solution helps you reduce your stocks and tied-up capital.

You choose the point of delivery: this could be in the pre-op area, in front of the operating theatre, or even at reception. We manage delivery points, anonymized keys and badges for over 220 hospitals in Switzerland. With the Swiss-Express Web online service, you can order labels, manage and track your consignments and receive detailed reports. This means you have a clear overview of all boxes and containers used.
We collect your returns during the following delivery round. For the larger hospitals, we collect returns daily between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.
You have an individual Swiss-Express Innight” contract for night transport with Swiss Post.
You can send the following types of goods with Swiss-Express Innight Medica
- Dangerous goods up to 1,000 ADR points
- Goods with a maximum length of 250 cm and a maximum girth of 400 cm
- Weight up to a maximum of 250 kg per transport unit (up to a maximum 400 kg per consignment)
- Goods that do not protrude beyond the side of the load carrier (e.g. EUR pallets (120 cm x 80 cm))
- Goods that are packaged securely for transportation and the nature of which does not constitute a threat to the environment or to the health and safety of Swiss Post’s employees
